It is reported on Friday morning at 8:00 AM a man called to a property in High field Road. He imitated as tap water personnel to check the water pressure and be allowed in the property, then kidnapped the elderly resident and escaped with a quantity of cash.
Police would once again remind people to observe doorstep code and not let anyone into their house unless completely satisfied about their identity.
In the first instance, when responding to unexpected callers, people should use digital door viewer and door chain to see who is outside and if there is any doubt they should not allow them in. At least with the digital peephole viewer, you actually get to see what the person looks like, should check their ID even check with the company or organization that they claim to be representing.
